Move-Out Cleanouts in Brunswick, MD
A move-out cleanout is the part of the move nobody plans for. The truck is loaded, the people are gone, and what's left is the stuff that didn't make the cut: the couch that wouldn't fit down the stairs, a mattress leaning against the wall, the grill, four bags in the garage, and a basement with twenty years of boxes that were always going to get sorted out later.
Whether you're a landlord with a unit to re-rent, an agent with a settlement date, or a family emptying a house in Brunswick, the job is the same. Somebody has to carry it out and somebody has to pay to put it somewhere. That's what we do, and we do it in one pass.
What a cleanout actually involves
We don't hand you a box and a deadline. You point at what goes and we carry it out. Furniture, mattresses and box springs, appliances, carpet that's being pulled, bagged trash, the contents of a shed, bikes and tools, paint cans, the garage shelving the last tenant screwed into the wall. If it's sitting in the way of the next thing that has to happen in that house, it counts.
The order matters more than people expect. Big and awkward goes first, while there's room to turn it — a sleeper sofa out of a finished basement needs the stairs clear. Loose and bagged goes last, because it fills gaps on the truck.
Where it ends up depends on what it is. Usable furniture and household goods go to donation when a place will take them. Metal and appliances get separated out. The rest goes to a transfer station or the county landfill. There's no extra charge for TVs, electronics or other non-hazardous items — those get handled as part of the job.
A few things carry an added fee that we show on the quote rather than spring on you at the end: refrigerators, freezers, AC units and dehumidifiers, because of the refrigerant; tires; and bed bug or mold jobs, which need different handling. Concrete, brick, dirt and roofing shingles carry a higher tipping charge for the same reason the landfill charges us more — weight. Pianos, safes and hot tubs are priced per job.
Estate and storage unit cleanouts
Two versions of this come up often enough in Brunswick to name. An estate cleanout, where a house has to be emptied after a death or a move to assisted living, is slower work by nature — somebody usually needs to walk each room before it's cleared, and that's fine. Tell us what's been set aside and it doesn't move.
Storage unit cleanouts are the opposite: everything goes, and the clock is a rent bill. Those are usually quick, since a 10x10 is already packed in a way that loads easily.
What affects the quote
Volume first. How much goes on the truck is the single biggest number in any cleanout quote, and it's the one people guess low on — a basement always holds more than it looks like from the top of the stairs.
Then access. Ground-floor and a driveway we can back into is the easy case. Second-floor walk-ups, long carries from the back of a lot, narrow Brunswick alleys and street parking all add time, and time is the cost.
Then what's in the pile — the fee items above, and whether anything needs to come apart to get out of the room.
Quotes are free, depend on the size of the job, and usually come back the same day. They're good for 30 days. There's a $100 minimum on any job. Payment by cash, check, card or any payment app.
The fastest way to get a real number is photos. Every room, plus the basement, the garage and the shed, taken from the doorway so the whole space is in frame. We can quote off that.
How long it takes
Most single-unit move-out cleanouts are a half day to a full day. A full house with a loaded basement and a garage runs longer and may take more than one trip to unload between loads. If you have a date — new tenant moving in, settlement, the end of a lease — give us the date and we'll tell you honestly whether it fits, rather than starting and leaving you half empty.
Weekend jobs are available. Phones are answered Monday to Friday, 9 to 5. You don't need to be at the property: with a lockbox or a code lock and a clear list of what goes, the cleanout can run while you're at work. A fair number of Brunswick rentals belong to owners who live nowhere near them, and this is the part they'd otherwise have to drive out for.
