Couch Removal in Frederick, MD
The sectional that made it into the basement and won't come back up the stairs. The sleeper sofa nobody can lift. The couch the dog finished off. I carry it out from wherever it is, load it on my own truck and haul it away. You get a written price first, and the minimum job is $100.
What I take
- Sofas, loveseats and futons
- Sectionals, in as many pieces as they come in
- Sleeper sofas, mechanism and all
- Recliners, power recliners and lift chairs
- Ottomans, cushions and anything else going with it
You don't have to get it to the curb or the garage first. I take it from the room it is in, and I sweep up where it sat.
Stairs, doorways and taking it apart
Most couches leave the way they came in. When one won't, I take it apart:
- Sectionals are separated at their connectors and carried out one piece at a time
- Legs come off to buy the inch a tight doorway needs
- Recliner backs come off on many models
- Sleeper mechanisms and bulky cushions come out separately when that makes the carry easier
Mention tight turns, narrow stairs or a low basement ceiling when you send photos, so the quote covers the time it takes. Teardown time is part of the price, and so is the cleanup after.
Can it be donated?
If it is clean and in good shape, maybe. Habitat for Humanity ReStore on N. East Street in Frederick takes furniture, but only clean, good-condition items: nothing stained, smelly, covered in pet hair, torn or broken. If you want to try donating it, set that up before I arrive and mark the couch so I leave it. More options are in where your stuff goes. In city limits, the City of Frederick's free yearly bulk pickup also takes furniture at the curb; see the bulk trash pickup guide.
What affects the quote
- Size and weight. A loveseat is quicker than a five-piece sectional or a sleeper sofa.
- The path out. Basement stairs, tight turns and second-floor rooms take more time than a ground-floor living room.
- Taking it apart. Separating sections or removing legs and backs is part of the price when it is needed.
- Everything else. A couch plus the recliner and the coffee table usually costs less than separate trips.
Send a photo of the couch and one of the stairs or doorway it has to come through, and I send back a written price, usually the same day. How pricing works explains the rest.
Towns I serve
I work in Frederick County only, from Frederick and Brunswick to Urbana, New Market, Mount Airy, Jefferson, Myersville, Emmitsburg and every other town in the county. There is no trip charge for a quote anywhere in the county.
Questions
Can you get a sectional out of a basement?
Yes. I separate it into its sections, take the legs off if the turn is tight, and carry the pieces up one at a time.
Do I have to move the couch outside first?
No. I take it from the room it is in, down or up the stairs, and load it myself. Just clear a path to the door if you can.
Will you take a sleeper sofa or a power recliner?
Yes. Both are heavy, and both are normal jobs. Unplug a power recliner before I arrive. The price is in writing before I move anything.
How much does couch removal cost?
It depends on the size, the stairs and whether it has to come apart, so I quote from photos. The quote is free and the minimum job is $100. You pay when the job is done: cash, check, card or app.
