Junk Removal and Hauling in Walkersville, MD
I haul junk, clear out homes and garages, tear out old decks and bathrooms, and do repairs in Walkersville and the rest of the Glade Valley, in town and in the neighborhoods just outside it.
How close I am
Walkersville is about 10 miles from 5738 Jefferson Pike, roughly 20 minutes around the east side of Frederick. I book Walkersville jobs like any other in the county, and there's no trip charge for a quote.
Glade Valley neighborhoods
The town's 2024 comprehensive plan describes Old Town and Glade Village as compact older neighborhoods, with Glade Manor, Fountain Rock Manor, Colony Village and Deerfield built out under the 1972 plan. Discovery and Glade Towne, some of the earliest planned communities in the county, brought the area's first townhouses. Discovery was built under Frederick County's jurisdiction, outside the town limits, which matters for trash: the town's bulk days are for in-town residents. The plan also notes that over half the homes in the Walkersville area are more than 40 years old, so original decks, sheds and bathrooms are coming due.
How Walkersville handles trash, bulk items and yard waste
- Weekly trash is collected Wednesdays by J&J Trash Service. Items are capped at 45 pounds and 3½ feet, and furniture, appliances and mattresses don't go in regular trash.
- Yard waste goes out Thursdays, March 5 through December 10, 2026; branches no longer than 4 feet or thicker than 4 inches.
- Town bulk trash days in 2026 are June 6 and November 7, set out after the Wednesday pickup.
- Bulk day does not take construction or demolition debris, tires, or more than one mattress per household.
- A recycling dumpster sits at Town Hall, 21 W. Frederick Street, on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays.
Information checked October 2026. Town schedules change; the linked town page has the latest.
Because bulk day won't take construction or demolition debris, a torn-out deck, bathroom or kitchen needs another way out. I tear it out and haul it in the same job. The same goes for anything that can't wait until November, or homes outside the town line.
Nearest drop-off
For anything the town won't take, the county's site at 9031 Reichs Ford Road is open to residents Monday to Saturday, 7 AM to 4:30 PM. Accepted scrap metal and empty appliances go in free at the recycling entrance. Residents can also drop off up to five 30-gallon yard waste bags per day free; loads that carry a fee go through the main entrance. From Walkersville it's about 10 miles south, roughly 20 minutes.
