Junk Removal and Hauling in Middletown, MD
Middletown is one of my closest towns. I haul junk and brush, clear out houses and garages, take down decks and sheds, and do repairs, from the old houses on Main Street to the subdivisions around them.
How close I am
Middletown is about 7 miles from 5738 Jefferson Pike, roughly 15 minutes over the valley roads. Short drive, easy scheduling, and no trip charge for a quote.
Main Street houses and valley subdivisions
The town grew up along the old National Pike as the center of the Middletown Valley. The Middletown Historic District, listed on the National Register in 2003, covers about 130 acres along Main Street and the side streets around it, with more than 340 contributing buildings. Around that core are newer subdivisions with decks, sheds and finished basements. In the old houses the work is mostly attics, cellars and repairs; in the newer ones it's garages, basements and backyard teardowns.
How Middletown handles trash, bulk items and yard waste
- Trash is picked up every Wednesday inside town limits by the town's contractor.
- Yard waste goes out Tuesdays from April 7 through December 29, 2026, in the town's brown paper bags. Check availability with the Municipal Center at 31 West Main Street before going to collect bags.
- Branches must be cut to 3-foot lengths, no more than 3 inches thick, and bundled. Root balls, dirt, sod and rocks are not collected.
- The town holds a couple of bulk pickup days a year (two in 2026, two items per household, out by 6 AM); the town's Trash News page posts the next date when it is set.
Information checked October 2026. Town schedules change; the linked town page has the latest.
That leaves a lot that doesn't fit: limbs thicker than 3 inches after a storm, a pile of sod from a patio project, or a basement full of furniture between bulk days. I load it and haul it away, with the number of trips depending on the size and weight of the load. I don't cut trees, but I'll take the brush once it's on the ground. See junk removal.
Nearest drop-off
For anything the town won't take, the county's site at 9031 Reichs Ford Road is open to residents Monday to Saturday, 7 AM to 4:30 PM. Accepted scrap metal and empty appliances go in free at the recycling entrance. Residents can also drop off up to five 30-gallon yard waste bags per day free; loads that carry a fee go through the main entrance. From Middletown it's about 13 miles, roughly 20 minutes each way.
