Construction Debris Removal in Frederick, MD
The pile in the driveway after your DIY bathroom, the scraps a contractor left behind, or the garage full of old cabinets and flooring. I load it, haul it on my own truck and sweep up behind me. No dumpster sitting in the driveway for a week. You get a written price first, and the minimum job is $100.
What I haul
- Drywall, plaster and paneling
- Lumber, trim, doors and old framing
- Flooring: carpet, pad, laminate, vinyl and hardwood
- Tile and the bags of thinset and broken pieces that come with it
- Old cabinets, vanities and countertops
- Tubs, toilets, sinks and shower surrounds
- Packaging, boxes and offcuts from a finished project
Loading, hauling and disposal are in the quoted price. I sweep the area when the truck is loaded.
Debris removal or demolition?
This page is for debris that already exists: the work is done and the pile is waiting. If something still has to be torn out first, like a kitchen, a bathroom, a shed or a deck, that is light demolition. I tear it out and haul it in the same job. Either way it is one written price, and many jobs are a bit of both, so just tell me what is there.
Where it goes
Clean, usable building materials like unused lumber, doors and cabinets can go to the Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Frederick, which takes building materials in good condition. Metal can go to the county recycling drop-off. The rest goes to the county landfill on Reichs Ford Road, which charges construction and demolition debris by weight at a different rate than household trash. That fee is built into my price, so there is no separate dump charge. More in where your stuff goes.
What I don't take
Liquid paint and solvents, chemicals, fuel, and asbestos or anything that might contain it. Older floor tile, pipe wrap and popcorn ceilings are the usual suspects. If you think your debris has any of that in it, say so before the quote, because it needs a specialist.
What affects the quote
- Volume. How much truck space the pile takes up.
- Weight. Dense material like drywall, tile and plaster weighs far more than the same space of lumber or carpet, and the landfill charges by weight.
- Where it is. A pile in the driveway is quicker than debris in a basement or on the second floor.
- How it is piled. Bagged and stacked goes faster than loose debris spread through the house.
Send a few photos of the pile and the path out, and I send back a written price, usually the same day. How pricing works explains the rest.
Towns I serve
I work in Frederick County only, from Frederick and Thurmont to Urbana, New Market, Mount Airy, Jefferson, Myersville, Emmitsburg and every other town in the county. There is no trip charge for a quote anywhere in the county.
Questions
Can you pick up what my contractor left behind?
Yes. Leftover drywall, lumber, flooring, boxes and old fixtures are a normal job. Send photos of the pile and you get a written price before I load anything.
Is this the same as demolition?
No. Debris removal is for material that is already torn out. If something still needs to come down first, like cabinets, a shed or a deck, that is light demolition, and I tear it out and haul it in the same job.
Do you take drywall and tile?
Yes. Both are heavy for their size, so the amount affects the price more than it would with lumber or carpet. Disposal fees are included in the written quote.
What construction debris won't you take?
Asbestos or anything that might contain it, liquid paint and solvents, chemicals and fuel. If you are not sure about old tile or pipe wrap, say so before the quote.
