Light Demolition in Frederick, MD
The rotted deck, the shed nobody uses, the kitchen that has to come out before the new one goes in. I tear it out, load every piece on my own truck and haul it away in the same job. Non-structural work only, with a written price before I start.
All I can say is “WOW”! They did a demo project at our home. Excellent service: they arrived on time, were very respectful of us and our property, did an outstanding demo job (including clean-up and removal of debris afterward)…
What I tear out
Light demolition means taking things apart with hand and power tools, not with an excavator. Common jobs in Frederick County:
- Sheds and small outbuildings, taken down to the slab or bare ground
- Decks, including boards, joists, railings and stairs
- Fences and play sets, posts included
- Kitchen and bathroom cabinets, vanities and countertops
- Carpet, pad, tack strip and old flooring
- Drywall and paneling on walls that are not load-bearing
- Old fixtures: tubs, toilets, sinks and shower surrounds
Every piece of debris leaves on my truck as part of the job. Disposal and dump fees are in the quoted price, so there is no second bill and no dumpster sitting in your driveway for a week.

I tear it out and haul it
I take it down, load it, haul it off and sweep up. You pay when the job is done, by cash, check, card or a payment app, whatever works for you.
Before I start
If gas, electric or water runs to what is coming out, it has to be disconnected first, by you or the utility. That covers the supply lines under a sink, the circuit feeding a shed light, or a gas line to a grill on the deck. I will point out anything I see when I quote. Move out anything you want to keep, and I handle the rest. If you are not sure whether the county wants a permit, start with shed and demolition permits in Frederick County.
What I won't tear down
This is light, non-structural work. I don't take out load-bearing walls, and I don't do whole-house or foundation demolition. Anything with asbestos or other hazardous material needs a specialist first; older floor tile, pipe wrap and popcorn ceilings are the usual suspects, so test before you schedule. I also don't do tree removal. If your project includes one of these, I'll say so when I quote and price the rest.
Recent jobs: backyard playhouse teardown in Frederick, and deck removal before a new patio in Thurmont.
Towns I serve
I work in Frederick County only: Frederick, Urbana, New Market, Mount Airy, Brunswick, Jefferson, Adamstown, Middletown, Myersville, Walkersville, Woodsboro, Thurmont, Emmitsburg and every other town in the county. Staying close keeps scheduling simple, and there is no trip charge for a quote anywhere in the county.
Questions
Do you haul the debris?
Yes. Hauling is part of every demolition job, not an add-on. Disposal and dump fees are included in the quoted price, and I sweep up before I leave.
What won't you tear down?
Load-bearing walls, whole houses, foundations, and anything with asbestos or other hazardous material, which needs a specialist. I also don't do tree removal.
Do I need to do anything first?
Have any gas, electric or water running to the area disconnected before tear-out day, by you or the utility. Move out anything you want to keep. I'll point out anything else when I quote.
